based on brain-computer interface
allows to type text by the power of thought
allows to control devices
allows to communicate in social networks
Neurochat system gives an opportunity of network communication to people who cannot speak or move; to people with such diagnosis as cerebral palsy, ALS, cerebrovascular disease, multiple sclerosis and other neurotraumas (TBI, spinal trauma, etc.) so that they can communicate with medical personnel, relatives, friends and the whole world.
Please, watch our short movie to see Neurochat in action. You will see Neurochat users and creators of the system.
Neurochat communication system is based on brain-computer interface technology for people with severe speech and movements disorders and for every user who is interested in innovative communication methods. Neurocommunication, which is the development of straight contact between human brain and other artificial systems, is a breaking-through technology, leading to symbiotic human-machine systems. Such systems are the challenge of our times, they can guarantee global competitive advantages in network communication technologies.
Neurochat is one of the first projects within the future market of Neurocommunications; it is a social demand of millions of people not only in Russia but in the whole world. The system is multilingual: now users can have interface and key board in Cyrillic, Latin and Turkish alphabets. Besides, we are trying to intergrade Asian languages, starting from Chinese. Project development assumes that there will be 500 users in the end of 2018 and not less than 1 million users in the end of 2030.
Neurochat has no language barriers as texts are translated online to user’s language. Thus, Neurochat social network is designed to be international.
In February 2018 together with South California University we hosted first international neurocommunication between two people from different continents: Russian patient had a chat with American, both of them were typing in their native languages and system made translation automatically from Russian to English and vice versa.
Neurochat is fully Russian project, one of the first projects of National Technological Initiative in developing and promoting new Neuronet markets.
Neurochat software-hardware system consists of GarAnt-EEG neuroheadset and specialized interface ErgoSteam, which should be installed on user’s computer or tablet. Headset registers neurophysiological activity and transforms user’s mental intentions to certain commands for computer or other executive devices. Mental intention to choose a letter or symbol transforms in real typing on the computer screen and so user can type a text letter by letter without using speech or movements. Special user interface makes the process faster with the help of predicting text technology similar to T9 (which is widely used in smartphones and search internet systems) and online translation to native language of user.
A comfortable headset is put on user’s head; it registers EEG data and transfers it to computer or tablet over Wi-Fi wireless connection. User chooses the needed symbol and picks it by concentrating on his intention. The algorithm is built considering the possibility of low attention characteristics, emotional motivation and altered mental tiring. Technology is reliable and maintains on average 80-95% of right symbol choices. The requested time for one symbol depends on number of objects on the screen; on average it takes 2-3 seconds to type one symbol. Nuerochat is created not only for typing but also to control near-the-bed medical equipment or, for example, “Smart house” system. We are in process of integration this into Neurochat system.
In December 2016 we presented the neuroheadset and conducted an experiment, in which two users from different rooms had a conversation through Neurochat.
In January 2018 Neurochat was presented at the biggest international exhibition of consumer electronics - CES 2018.
In February 2018 first conversation of user’s from different countries was held: one patient was in Moscow, the other – in Los-Angeles.
In June 2018 Neurochat was considered the best project in its category at the biggest exhibition of consumer electronics in Asia – CES Shanghai 2018.
In September 2018 Neurochat was considered one of the best Russian invention in 2017 according to Ruspatent.
In 2018 Neurochat will be presented at the international exhibition of medical equipment in Dusseldorf – MEDICA 2018.
Neurochat is a multidisciplinary project bringing together achievements of Russian scientists in neurophysiology and computer sciences. Neurochat project involves neurophysiologists, psychologists, physicians, engineers, economists, marketers, programmers and mathematicians.
Trial operation of Neurochat hardware-software system is now in process of realization, thus, till the end of November we provide Neurochat for free to people with severe speech and movements disorders who cannot independently use computer for communication.
To join and participate in our project, you need to submit a request in our website and fill all necessary forms including patient’s diagnosis.
By now we have only 400 equipment sets and that is why we put in priority people who experience the biggest difficulties.
f your request is submitted, you need to sign terms and conditions (you can read terms and conditions here). Our Support team arrives by appointment, they provide all necessary information and training with the equipment, then Neurochat is yours. In case you have any difficulties with the system, you can contact us. Our Support team can advise you by phone or come if an additional training for user or his/her relative is needed.
As our system is high-technology, it requires thorough following of certain procedures. The recipients have to have careful attitude and provide special care in accordance with User Manual.
A team of specialists with extensive experience is working under NeuroChat project. All employees, from the scientists and engineers to patronage service and managers have experience in development of several high-tech projects. Only the close-knit work of like-minded people has allowed us to create from scratch and bring to the market an innovative product, practically unparalleled in the world, in just two years!
Natalia Galkinaour CEO and ideological inspirer, through whom Neurochat saw the light. Natalia is one of the leading entrepreneurs in high-tech sector in Russian, leader of “Neurocommunication and marketing” section of Neuronet branch union, supervisor of several scientific researches and more than 100 research projects based on neurophysiological methods and tools.
Alexander Luzhinpresident of Association “НП “Эксперт” [NP Expert], Neurochat R&D supervisor, possess long-time experience in managing high-tech projects. Alexander had a difficult task of uniting science and production. To create a unique neuroheadset, to build an appropriate software, to put puzzle pieces together and make an innovative product – these are the most important things and without them Neurochat would not become a effective solution for many people who seek communication.
Alesya ChichinkinaPR director of Neurochat with over 8 years’ experience in the field of marketing and PR of high-tech projects. Alesya is a person who told to the whole world (and it is not an exaggeration) about this unique product, which is able to improve the life quality of many people and give basis for many other neurotechnological achievements. Thanks to Alesya, many people from all the corners of the world are now waiting for Neurochat to come to their lives.
Yury Mustafintechnical director of Neurochat with over 10 years’ experience in managing IT department of high-tech projects. Yury’s broad knowledge allowed to find not only an IT solution but to create the project on the basis of many long-term scientific researches. To successfully realize the task, Yury immersed himself in many neurophysiological nuances and as a result he has created simple and user-friendly product, which had been unattainable before for many specialists in brain-computer interfaces.
Alexander KaplanDoctor of Biological Sciences, professor, Russian leading scientist in neuro-interfaces field, scientific leader of Neurochat project. Alexander is a scientist with a capital S, the most important thing for him is to get to the truth, find the answers, discover the unknown. Because of his work Neurochat get the scientific basis, accompanied with the years of investigations.
Tatiana Iskhakovahead of Neurochat Social Service, she is a fairy godmother of the project. There is a very difficult task on her frail shoulders – working with doctors, medical institutions and patients. She is not only a person who teaches users to “neurocommunicate” but also gives necessary support to them while they are standing in the beginning of a long journey of overcoming the challenges and getting over themselves.
Neurochat is for those who never give up! Choose one way of getting it and rediscover the world of communication!
We are doing our best to tell the story of our project to the world so that a unique solution designed to solve problems of millions of people would be known all over and would be available to those who need it. Here we will share with you main news about NeuroChat.
The success of any undertaking depends not only on the efforts of the team, but also on the partners who support this team on the difficult path of creating something new and important. We are grateful to each of our partners for their contribution to the development of NeuroChat!
